Its facade, bigger than two American football fields, became a permanent exhibition space for contemporary artists working in digital media.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/ChicagoLoopAlliance\/videos\/1853623554753009\/<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-US\" style=\"color:#000000;\">Exactly one week ago, on Saturday, Sept. 29th, during the\u00a0<a style=\"color:#cc0000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.expochicago.com\/visit\/expo-art-week\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">EXPO ART WEEK<\/a>, Mart became a canvas for the world\u2019s largest permanent digital art projection. The project is called &#8220;<strong><a style=\"color:#cc0000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.artonthemart.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Art on theMART<\/a>.<\/strong>&#8220;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\"><span lang=\"EN-US\" style=\"color:#000000;\">But wait a second.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<figure style=\"width: 289px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" alignleft\" style=\"max-width:100%;\" src=\"https:\/\/media.giphy.com\/media\/3o7WTsfs4qzHc48Ene\/giphy.gif\" width=\"289\" height=\"289\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\"><span style=\"color:#808080;\"><em>gif by\u00a0<a style=\"color:#808080;\" href=\"https:\/\/giphy.com\/gifs\/glitch-aesthetic-enter-the-void-3o7WTsfs4qzHc48Ene\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NICO ROXE<\/a><\/em><\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-US\" style=\"color:#000000;\">Before we start getting in depth, let\u2019s first agree on what digital art is.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-US\" style=\"color:#000000;\">Digital art, also called new media art, is based on using new technologies for creating or presenting works of art. \u00a0Artists use advanced technology, and often they work together with IT specialists. <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\" style=\"color:#000000;\">Digital art, as said in <a style=\"color:#cc0000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theartstory.org\/movement-digital-art.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">theartstory<\/a>, encourages the audience to notice and mediate over the influences of the technological progress and inventions of the XXI century, such as the internet.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"color:#000000;\"><strong>Art on theMART<\/strong> is a brainchild of the collaboration of an art critical board, directed by\u00a0<a style=\"color:#cc0000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.artonthemart.com\/cynthia-noble\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Cynthia Noble<\/a>, \u00a0a team of\u00a0engineers specialized in digital projection, and four American\u00a0<a style=\"color:#cc0000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.artonthemart.com\/artists\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">artists<\/a>. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Remember those classroom projectors that the teacher could never make to work? Forget those. The world\u2019s largest permanent digital art projection required to\u00a0build a weatherproofed projector-room that houses thirty-four Christie Digital Boxer 4K30 30,000 lumen projectors &#8211; to put it in other words, they are super cool and strong.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"color:#000000;\">To display images on the Mart&#8217;s bigger then two acres facade, <strong>Art on theMART<\/strong> uses <a style=\"color:#cc0000;\" href=\"http:\/\/obscuradigital.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Obscura Digital<\/a> technology. This San Francisco based company combines the newest technologies with artistic tastes.
